Long before they hear, “…and the winner is…” nominees at the 2012 84’th annual Academy Awards have been working on their appearance, getting a little buffing and puffing here and there. As this year’s host Mr. Billy Crystal has often said, ‘”When you look mah-vah-lous, you feel mah-vah-lous!” A surgical treatment such as Jane Fonda’s beautiful make over that was the talk of the recent 2012 Golden Globe Awards needs to be done months before the ceremony. But even Ms. Fonda and others who have had recent surgery are likely to be getting touched up this week. Both our Beverly Hills and Encino offices have been busy getting ready for the film industry’s big night. The 5 most popular treatments leading up to the big night are non-invasive in nature.
1. Micro-current galvanic facials (Perfector) take years off of the appearance of the face and neck after just a 60 minute relaxing (many fall asleep during the treatment) massage like treatment. The micro-currents stimulate muscles and nerves temporarily, resulting in a beautiful lift. The procedure is relatively inexpensive, but requires frequent sessions to maintain the results. Many of our stars have their own personal units. The Arasys system straps on to the body to tighten and firm the abdomen, love handles, and thighs of stars, taking off inches before they slip into those Chanel gowns and Armani tuxedos.
2. Facials. Light facials such as Intraceuticals O2 Infusion facial, Purigenix collagen facial masks, and/or hydro-facials with infusiongive glowing radiance, cleansing, and hydration to the skin. These are administered by trained aestheticians who will be sure to have their clients on top skin care products such as SkinMedica’s TNS Essential Serum. (Best beauty tip of this entire blog site: you should be on a retinol product! Begin slowly under supervision and build up to the point where it is used every night for the rest of your life. You will thank me in 30 years!)
3. Dysport is the fastest acting neuro-modulator on the market. For those who said, “Whoops, I forgot to get my Botox a few weeks ago and now that line is showing up?”, Dysport injections usually kick in within 24 hours. Getting injected on the Monday or Tuesday before Academy Sunday leaves about 5 days for any minor bruises to resolve (though if this year is like others, looking closely you will see a little injection misadventure bruise here or there, hopefully not the asymmetric brow or eyelid that is inexcusable at this level).
4. Fillers injected with canullasare quickly becoming the standard of practice in those offices catering to clientele that cannot afford bruising, and wish to be injected with very little discomfort. The injection canullas are round tipped, pushing blood vessels and nerves out of the way rather than piercing them as do traditional needles. Again, Monday and Tuesday will be the busy days this week (see #3 above).
5. Advice on acceptance speeches. Both Dr. Sunder and Dr. Persky are excellent lecturers and are known to give entertaining (and informative) speeches at facial aesthetic conferences. Both are grateful for the privilege they have in taking care of their patients, working together with an incredible staff, and always remember to thank their spouses for their support, without whom they would not be able to help you achieve your facial aesthetic goals. Thank you, enjoy the movies and awards, and be well! Hope that the stars look mah-vah-lous, and that you feel marvelous!
