Without artistic vision there can be technical successes that are aesthetic failures”  Timothy Marten, MD, FACS

We are frequently asked why there are so many people out there with “puffy, over filled faces” who look like freaks of nature.  Or why a cosmetic surgeon does a facelift that appears too pulled and plastic.  Many patients tell us that they would ” never” have this or that treatment or plastic surgery procedure because they have seen too many people who had the procedure and now “look funny”.

The reason that there are far too many unnatural plastic surgery and injectable treatment patients out there is exactly what Dr. Timothy Marten stated recently at the Vegas Cosmetic Surgery 2011 meeting, “Without an artistic vision there can be technical successes that are aesthetic failures.”  In other words, anyone can be taught to operate or inject, but most importantly there must be an artistic appreciation of natural beauty, facial harmony, and proper proportions.

It is not the treatment, surgical procedure, or injectable that causes Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills to be a playground of the rich and cosmetically obviously overdone, but rather the lack of artistic vision in the physician, physician assistant, or nurse that administered the treatment.  Both Dr. Sunder and Dr. Persky not only have an appreciation of art and sculpturing in general, but they both take very seriously the trust that their patients have given them along with the privilege of helping their patients achieve their aesthetic goals successfully.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that you have regarding facial plastic surgery.

Be well.
