As stated by Dr. Michael Persky, MD, Persky Sunder Facial Plastic Surgery, Encino, Los Angeles:
Points from the video:
00:05 – He explains how they get to know the patient and establish a relationship with the patient
00:54 – Dr Sunder explains how they both do not consult the patient together and also the procedure for consultation
01:25 – She discusses the benefits of their practice and how they inform the patient really well with all recommended options
At a consultation at Persky Sunder Facial Plastic Surgery Encino, Los Angeles, both Dr. Sunder and I want to get to know the patient and understand where they wanna be in future, what their goals are, what bothers them, and what we can do to help them. It’s about establishing a relationship with the patient.
Dr Sunder says: We don’t consult together, so the patient sees one of us before the other.
And I think one of the benefits of our practice is that we are very honest with our patients. And we strive to educate our patients. So when a patient comes into our practice, we tell him these are all the possibilities that are available to you, and that we use a team based approach to arrive at a decision. So we never say to our patient that this is what you need and this is the only thing that is gonna work for you. We’d give them the options, this is what this option A will do for you; then if you want something but a bit longer lasting, then this is option B. And if the patient needs more information about one or the other, then they see the other physicians.
