We wish to share condolences with the many fans, friends, and family of Academy Award winning actress Elizabeth Taylor. Ms. Taylor’s natural beauty was evident from her first childhood role at age 12 in “National Velvet”, through her adult career, which included her starring role in “Cleopatra” (Historically Cleopatra was very intelligent and a shrewd politician with an extraordinary charisma. However, she was not beautiful and had a much masculine features). Late in life, Ms. Taylor raised both awareness and millions of dollars supporting HIV-AIDS causes.
In the world of facial plastic surgery, Elizabeth Taylor’s features have served as a template or “GPS” for beauty. Her facial fullness and “golden ratio” of proportions that Leonardo da Vinci’s anatomic diagrams emphasized are unquestionably classic. The arch of her eyebrow is ideal as is the fullness of her upper eyelid. Her nose does not distract from her gorgeous deep blue eyes, but rather draws our focus toward them. French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, said of her blue eyes, “When her eyes met yours, it was a life changing experience.” Her lips are shaped and proportioned so that the upper to lower lip ratio is again that of the “golden ratio”, 1:1.68, in other words, beautiful natural lips have a lower lip that is about 30% larger than the upper lip. Ms. Taylor’s face had the upside down triangle of youth (or the heart shape of beauty).
Ms. Taylor was very good friends with world famous Beverly Hills dermatologist, Arnold Klein, MD, who likely was instrumental in maintaining her natural beauty with properly placed volume in her later years.
Elizabeth, may your soul be bound to eternal life. Rest in peace, beautiful.
