If you’re looking for a non-surgical body contouring and toning solution in Los Angeles, Emsculpt® may be your answer. This state-of-the-art body sculpting device increases muscle definition while reducing excess fat cells. This will leave you looking fit and toned while cruising the Los Angeles-based beaches or hitting a night on the town.

While eating a healthy diet and being active is the best way to stay in shape, we all have those stubborn areas that no amount of exercise seems to help. Most of us don’t have the time to spend hours working on these trouble spots at the gym, especially when the effort fails to produce the results we seek.

That’s why our plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Persky approves this non-invasive alternative to surgical body sculpting and offers it to patients in the Los Angeles area.

What Is the Emsculpt® Difference?

There are some effective non-surgical treatments on the market to sculpt or “freeze” fat, such as Venus Freeze™, Venus Legacy™, and CoolSculpting®. However, these technologies do not address the underlying muscle tone.

Emsculpt® can improve muscle tone and strength right where you need it. By encouraging muscle development, this non-invasive treatment adds definition to the upper and lower abdominals, lifts the buttocks, builds and tightens arm and calf muscles, and strengthens core muscles.

It can also recondition undefined arms and add strength to calves and thighs.

Is Emsculpt® Right for You?

At your consultation, Dr. Persky will listen carefully to your concerns and desires, review your medical history, and examine the areas to be treated.

After discussing all your sculpting options, Dr. Persky will create a customized treatment plan for you. Your BMI, body type, and personal goals will determine the number of treatments you need (most patients undergo a series of four treatments over two weeks to achieve optimal results).

Be sure to let Dr. Persky know if you have any metal implanted in your body within a few inches of the prospective treatment site, as this may disqualify you from the treatment, depending on the location.

How Does Emsculpt® Work?

Emsculpt® uses high-intensity electromagnetic energy (HIFEM®) to produce thousands of muscle contractions in the treated areas by stimulating the nerve to the muscles. These deep, focused, and powerful contractions build muscle and reshape your body, one problem area at a time.

These 30-minute treatments produce the same number of contractions as 20,000 sit-ups or squats. Plus, with Emsculpt®, 100 percent of the muscle contracts. When we voluntarily contract our muscles, only 60 to 75 percent of the muscle contracts.

This FDA-cleared device is used to provide pain-free treatments and is clinically proven to increase muscle mass and decrease stubborn fat. Most patients undergo four sessions over two weeks, and sessions usually last 30 minutes.

Emsculpt® is customizable with three applicators to address different muscle groups.

  • Large Applicator
You can address larger muscle groups with the Emsculpt® large applicator. All you have to do is lay down and let Emsculpt® do the work. No need to worry about proper form, this technology does it all for you. The large applicator is used on the abdominal and butocks muscles.
  • Small Applicator
Our arms and calves are among the most challenging muscle groups to tone. The small applicator activates these muscles’ motor neurons with 20,000 focused contractions to strengthen, build, and tone.
  • Chair Applicator
To strengthen the core, you may be advised to use the chair applicator, EMSELLA™. This approach uses HIFEM® therapies to firm, tone, and strengthen abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, causing increased neuromuscular control, improved strength, posture, and balance. Additional benefits may include the relief of back pain and stronger bladder control. For serious urinary incontinence, try EMSELLA™. A welcomed “side effect” of Emsella treatment is enhanced sexual health.

With patients seeing a 16 percent increase in muscle mass, 20 percent decrease in fat, and a 96 percent patient satisfaction rating, Emsculpt® is an excellent option for body sculpting.

Frequently Asked Questions About Emsculpt®

How much does Emsculpt® cost?

Your cost will depend on the areas being treated and your location. Generally speaking, treatment sessions usually run between $750 and $1000, and four treatment sessions are required. You will be given an accurate cost estimate during your consultation. We offer packages of multiple treatments at a marked discount rate. Many of our patients join our “membership” program which allows them unlimited access to the Emsculpt® device.

How should I prepare for treatment with Emsculpt®?

While no preparation is needed, you should be well hydrated since your body will have quite a workout. Preferably, you should not have a large meal for at least two hours prior to Emsculpt® treatment of the abdominal muscles.

How will I feel after my Emsculpt® procedure?

You can feel the contractions during the treatment, and afterward, you’ll feel like you just completed an intense muscle workout.

When are Emsculpt® results visible?

You should see and feel small changes immediately, with full results apparent at about three months. It is vital to eat healthily and exercise regularly for the best results. Think of Emsculpt® as a fitness head start. Commonly, patients report that the frustration they feel after working out intensely for months and not seeing definition of their muscles is finally relieved as they can see that added definition after Emsculpt®.

Am I a candidate for Emsculpt®?

Unless you are a well-conditioned athlete with a low BMI, you probably have some exercise-resistant areas that could use some toning. Even our athletic patients (a star NFL quarterback and an elite marathon runner) report increased strength, endurance, and stamina following their Emsculpt® treatments.

Emsculpt® is for anyone who wants a stronger, well-sculpted body, and this is an excellent choice for women who have recently given birth to tighten their abdominal muscles. Ideal patients should be healthy and have realistic expectations for their Emsculpt® results.
