Voluma is the hottest filler that we have today; It was FDA approved for use in the US on Dec 13, and we have been using it off and on. The indications are to restore volume of the cheeks; As per the initial studies, patients were receiving 4-5-6 syringes of voluma. What is surprising to me is that we are able to use 1-2 syringes of voluma in the proper strategic area and get incredible results. So, initially when we were treating patients with voluma, the patients really needed volume and they were coming in, and we were filling them. But recently, we have had a couple of very, very beautiful women coming in the office. By using a small amount of voluma in a beautiful woman, it makes her even more beautiful. It was an insight for me to see how well voluma works in someone who already looks great. So it’s not only to restore volume in patients who really need a lot of volume, but it almost works best in those patients who have a good volume but are just starting to see the earliest signs of a little loss of volume.
