38, lax skin under neck. What to do?
RealSelf actual patient comment:
I’m 38 and have been diligent about sunscreen, hats, sun protection. But a couple months ago I noticed a flap of skin under my chin, noticeable mostly on my left side. I got my platysmal bands botoxed once about a month ago but I’m thinking I need to address the lax skin. I’m researching Ultherapy, Infini, Thermage? What can I do? Thanks!
A.There are both surgical and non-surgical treatments to address the loose skin in your neck. From your question, it sounds as if you are looking for non-surgical correction. I prefer to treat my patients who have loose neck skin with either Ultherapy or Profound RF with PRP. Micro-Botox intra-dermal injections are helpful as well, but only last for 3 to 4 months. Profound RF is the most effective, it is a one time treatment in contrast to Infini and Thermage. As with any aesthetic treatment, choose your treating physician most carefully based on their skill, experience, knowledge, and most importantly their natural artistic vision. Good luck and be well.
