Am I able to have my nose with a rhinoplasty surgery be very close to what the right profile looks like in the photo?
RealSelf actual patient comment: (patient submitted photos with question)
With my photo attached below that I altered before being my natural nose on the left and the altered on the right. Is it possible for my nose to be very closely changed to how the photo on the right looks? Bring nose much closer to face, reduce nostril length and reduce bulbous tip?
A.Imaging is great for helping surgeons and patient communicate their vision – it is less great at giving a definitive estimate of an outcome. 2 dimensional lateral views like you’ve shown don’t reflect well what will happen on the front view – which in my opinion is the most important view. De-projection like you’ve shown can create significant width and decreased definition on the front.
In either case – a consultation with a rhinoplastyexpert would be helpful. Consult with a few rhinoplasty experts and then make sure to choose your rhinoplasty surgeon most carefully based on their skill, knowledge, experience, care, and natural artistic vision. A few rhinoplasty experts I would recommend are Ari Hyman, MD (Los Angeles) and Dean Toriumi, MD(Chicago). Good luck and be well.
