RealSelf actual patient comment:

I’m 32 years old and a few years ago I had Botox in my jaw for TMJ. I feel the practitioner was too aggressive with the Botox. I don’t grind my teeth anymore, but now my lower face is starting to prematurely sag. I’m getting deep laugh lines and my lower face looks and feels heavy. I’m hesitant to do a lower face lift since I’m still young. Are there any skin tightening devices that can correct this issue? Profound radiofrequency? Lasers? Or would you recommend a lower face lift?
A.There are a few technology non-surgical devices that can lift and tighten the skin and muscles along the jawline, lower face, and neck. In patients who are experiencing the earliest signs of facial aging, sagging skin, and jowling, I recommend either Profound RF with PRP or Ultherapy. If you are able to have one week of downtime due to swelling and bruising then I would recommend Profound RF, if not then you could have an Ultherapy treatment which has no downtime. As with any facial aesthetic treatment, please be sure to choose your treating physician most carefully based on their skill, experience, knowledge, and most importantly their natural artistic vision. Good luck and be well.
