Can Daxxify be used as a Botox alternative for TMJ?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: Considering the similarities between Botox and Daxxify, I am wondering if this would be a good alternative to target TMJ? Does one have an advantage over the other?
Dr. Persky’s Reply: I agree with expert Joel Cohen MD’s answer that Daxxify is currently FDA approved for used in the glabella forehead wrinkles. “Off label” uses of Daxxify will include treatment of the masseter muscles (TMJ Syndrome) with expected longer lasting effects.
