Can I have Emsculpt done with a copper IUD?

I have my first Emsculpt treatment today. When I signed the consent form it asked if I had any metal in my body such as an IUD. I said I had the Paraguard IUD and the nurse said BTL rep said it was ok and would not effect treatment. I didnt have any issues after the treatment but in doing research I am reading contradictory answers. BTL website does not have any information on it either.
A.Metal implantswithin7 centimeters of the Emsculpt treatment area is a contra-indication for Emsculpt treatment. I am happy to hear that you did not suffer any adverse effect from your treatment. There are some practicioners who will treat women will IUD, our policy has been to avoid treatment until the IUD has been removed or replaced with a non-metalic alternative. Good luck and be well.
