Can you have Emsculpt on the abdomen area if you have had a naval hernia?
RealSelf actual patient comment:
Can you have em sculpt on the abdominin area if you have had a naval hernia repaired 2 1/2 years ago? I am not overweight, work out 5 + times a week, and I am 20% body fat but can’t seen to loose the last of my belly. I am 65 and female.
A.As with any treatment it is most important to make sure that you are a candidate for Emsculpt and that there are not any contra-indications to having it prior to your procedure. If you were my patient I would have you see your hernia surgeon to make sure that it is well healed and that your surgeon okays you having the treatment. If your hernia is healed, you should be able to undergo the Emsculpt procedure.
There are a few contraindications for Emsculpt treatment. Patients should not have any metal or electronic implants near the treatment area, no history of heart arrhythmia, cardiacpacemaker, implanted defibrillators, implanted neurostimulators, drug pumps, recent surgery, malignant tumors, excessive fat (the EM energy penetrates about 7 centimeters),epilepsy, pregnancy and breast feeding, the procedure on women preferablyshould be done when not menstruating as it may cause period to come earlier and cramping may be greater, and recent surgery.Make sure that your treating physician takes your complete medical history to avoid any adverse events or complications (no significant complications have yet to be reported with Emsculpt.)Choose your treating physician most carefully.Good luck and be well.
