Durability of Profound RF vs facelift?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: In terms of longevity and durability of the results, does profound have the same as a facelift? Or does it just provide a temporary fix where as a facelift is more permanent? I know both of them do not stop aging.
Dr. Persky’s Reply: When my family goes on vacation in Mexico, our saying is, “Another day, another guac & chips on the beach!” In terms of the longevity of Profound RF vs. Facellift, both procedures will leave the patient looking better for the rest of life compared to how they would look had they not had the procedure. My experience is that both hold upo well for 7 to 10 years depending on the patient as everyone is different. Profound RF is the best treatment non-surgical treatment in selected patients who do wish to undergo surgery. The results of facelifting will give a tighter result along the jawline and neck. If only the treatments stopped aging, you are correct, they do not. Good luck and be well.
