RealSelf actual patient comment:

After my rhinoplasty in 2013, my plastic surgeon decided to do an in-office alarplasty to reduce nostril flare. Since the procedure, I’ve noticed that the scarring/tethering has made my smile line look very uneven and unnatural. The left side of my nostril now has a gap from the smile line and the right side of my nostril has scarring on top of my smile line. I have gone back to the office several times for Pico laser but it hasn’t made any positive changes. How can this be fixed?
A.It is difficult to assess your nose without examining you in person. For scarring fractional CO2 laser (Fraxel repair) works well. The asymmetry of your nostrils may be able to be repaired with a revision alarplasty. Consult with an expert rhinoplasty surgeon. I have seen the beautifulscar repair work of Ari Hyman, MD in Los Angeles. Good luck and be well.
