RealSelf actual patient comment:

I’ve always had eye troughs. Recently, I went for two consultations. The first doctor told me that I needed 1-3 Fraxel sessions. At the second consultation (which was with a Patient Coordinator and not an actual doctor), I was told that I needed 8 sessions with a Forma/RF laser. I had always thought I needed fillers to make my eye troughs disappear. Any advice or reasoning as to why I should go with Fraxel or RF laser instead of fillers? Or were these doctors maybe mistaken about the best treatment?
A.Lasers around the eyes are best used for crepe skin or slightly excessive skin as the treatment tightens the skin (I would use a fractionated CO2 laser such as Fraxel Repair.) Fillers around the eyes are used to replace lost volume. In your case based on your photo I would likely treat you with filler to take care of your hollows.Make sure to choose your physician injector most carefully based on their skill, knowledge, experience, and most importantly their natural artistic vision. Good luck and be well.
