Gonial area improvement during facelift?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: I am interested to know what technique is used to improve the gonial area during facelift. In other words how is posteriol mandibular area improved?
Dr. Persky’s Reply: The gonial area is the area at the posterior jawline, the angle of the jaw. During a facelift, the skin and muscular tissue is lifted and tightened around this area. We prefer the deep plane technique of facelifting. Should further augmentation of the gonial area be desired, then a mandibular angle implant may be placed. I personally recommend William Harris, MD (Encino, CA) for the deep plane facelift. Good luck and be well.
