RealSelf Actual Patient Comment:

What is the healing times in between septoplasty (I have a deviated septum) and Rhinoplasty surgeries? Insurance will only cover this surgery using a referral of my ENT surgeon, therefore I plan to carefully chose a Rhinoplasty surgeon after I have healed from the 1st surgery septoplasty (correction of my deviated septum). I obviously would like my rhinoplasty done as soon as possible, however I also want to take in consideration scar tissue healing for optimal results for my 2nd surgery.

A: Your best course would be to have both surgeries at the same time. Many ENT surgeons are excellent rhinoplasty surgeons as well. You can have the septoplasty portion of your surgery covered by insurance and pay a separate fee for the cosmetic rhinoplasty portion of your surgery. I highly recommend Ari Hyman, MD, both an excellent ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery trained rhinoplasty expert. The most important aspect of rhinoplasty is making sure that you choose your expert rhinoplasty surgeon most carefully. Dr. Hyman is both an artist and an expert in rhinoplasty. He is meticulous and his rhinoplasty results are beautiful and natural. Call the web reference below to schedule a virtual or in person consultation. Good luck and be well.
