I am middle eastern and my skin is olive colour. Is hyperpigmentation a side effect of Profound treatment?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: I am interested in a Profound treatment to tighten my face and neck but the nurse told me that I may end up with hyperpigmentation due to my skin tone. I am middle eastern and my skin is olive colour I was excited to have the treatment done but now I feel it’s risky to do it Please advice if hyperpigmentation is a side effect of Profound treatment
Dr. Persky’s Reply: Good news! Profound Rf is color-blind, there is not a contra-indication treating skin of color. I have treated many patients with dark skin types without any hyperpigmentation. Choose your treating physician most carefully. Good luck and be well.
