I am not currently pregnant, but what are the consequences of a treatment overlapping a very early pregnancy?
RealSelf actual patient comment:
I am considering Emsculpt for my buttocks, however am also trying-but-not-thing to conceive with my husband. I am not currently pregnant, but what are the consequences of a treatment overlapping a very early pregnancy, as in a pregnancy that is not yet detectable on at home test? If there is a known risk I will not pursue but I’d like to gain the muscle strength from the treatment
A.There obviously have not and will not be any studies on the effects of EmSculpt on a new conceived fetus. If by chance an early fetus survived the treatments, I would imagine that the baby would have an incredible 6-pack and a butt lift to make the Kardashians jealous. All kidding aside, I would wait until after pregnancy for your EmSculpt treatment as it is also beneficial for diastasis recti (separation of abdominal muscles.) Your other option is to make sure that you are not pregnant yet, use condoms or abstinence for the two weeks that it takes to have your treatment and then get back to work with your hubby. Good luck with getting pregnant and having a healthy baby. Be well.
