I’m thinking of getting the Profound procedure. The aesthetician is the one performing the procedure. Is this the norm?
RealSelf actual patient comment:
I’m 60 years old with deep skin wrinkles. I have an autoimmune disease and nervous about possible dangers. Can pigmentation be an issue.? Infection? Thank you for any input.
A.The most troubling aspect of your question is that an esthetician is scheduled to perform your Profound treatment. I believe that Profound RF should be performed by a physician, I personally would not allow anyone but a physician to perform the treatment on me. Profound RF is a great treatment for your deep wrinkles. There should not be any problems or dangers due to your autoimmune disease as long as it is not active. As long as you follow the proper protocol before and after your Profound treatment there should not be a risk of infection. Please make sure to choose your treating physician most carefully. Good luck and be well.
