Is Emsculpt safe with Skyla IUD?

A.Emsculpt is contraindicated in patients with metal implants because they may heat from the electromagnetic energy and cause a burn. If your IUD is completely plastic then it would be safe. I would not treat you if there is silver. We have had patients who had their IUD’s removed prior to their Emsculpt treatment. In that case, unless your looking to have kids, use an alternative method of birth controll. Good luck and be well.
