Is it safe to have Profound RF after having Aquamid filler in 2007?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: Can I have profound RF if I have had Aquamid filler in 2007. The areas treated with aquamed was nasal labial folds a small scar near my corner of my mouth ( that I think I can see the filler maybe not sure ) and between my eyebrows. I only had two syringes of the filler to treat all areas. The reason I say I don’t know if it’s the filler that I can see that was placed where the scar was; is because the doctor before using the filler tried to release the scar by cutting underneath the scar.
Dr. Persky’s Reply: Yes, it is safe to have Profound RF to rejuvenate your face and neck after you have had Aquamid filler previously. Aquamid has been associated with a much higher rate of infection than other injectable fillers. Your treating physician can treat your face and neck without going into the limited places where you have Aquamid. Good luck and be well.
