Is it safe to have Sculptra & Kybella side-by-side for uneven skin contours during the same treatment session?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: I had botched Lipo on my butt and thighs in 2006 in Costa Rica and am finally spending the $ for revision after years of research. I am tired of being disfigured . I have 3 seasons 6 weeks apart planned for filling the indentations with sculptra and dissolving the bulges/ uneven protruding contours with kybella starting Tuesday. I just want to know if it’s safe to do both procedures in the same general areas -side by side -& if sculptra is safe for inner thighs
Dr. Persky’s Reply: Sculptra is very safe for the inner thighs. Unfortunately liposuction of the body can leave lumpy bumpy surface, though one looks better in clothes, not so without clothes on. Sculptra acts to biologically stimulate volume while Kybella destroys fat cells decreasing volume. I would treat you separately with Sculptra first to fill in the deficits and if needed use Kybella later to dissolve any stubborn fat. The problem with doing the treatments together is that Kybella causes a great deal of swelling which could affect the placement of Sculptra. Be patient and do things one at a time, avoid making your situation worse. Good luck and be well.
