RealSelf actual patient comment:

I’m 27 and want to get cheekbone enhancement with Juvederm Voluma but I”m terrified. Although it pretty much says no real serious side effects because this product hasn’t been used for long I cant trust that it’s a good idea. I ‘m thinking it will cause changes in elasticity of my skin, the serious side effects that can come on later that no one has seen yet such as tissue scar formation/firmness and discoloration. Getting filler at such a young age and continue to do so, how will this fare?

A.Facial fillers are not tissue expanders. Voluma is an excellent filler, especially for eloquently enhancing the cheeks, under eyes, nasolabial folds, and generally lifting the face in a naturally beautiful manner. Fortunately you are young enough that a very small amount of Voluma (1 ml or 1 syringe) will give you results that take you “from hotty to oh my goddy!” The most important aspect of having a Voluma treatment is making sure that you take the time to select your injecting physician most carefully. You should base that decision on the physicians experience, skill, knowledge, and most importantly their natural artistic vision. I treat patients in the mid to late 20’s frequently and they are among our most happy and satisfied patients. Good luck and be well!
