Male, 35, hyaluronidase diluted with kenalog messed my face, is this skin atrophy? (Photos)
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: Hi, 35 Male. I had fillers 3 years ago which caused intermittent swelling and post inflammatory reaction. Since antibiotics and oral steroids couldn’t fix it, doctor recommended to dissolve it with kenalog and 5fu 2 months ago. From that moment my face became textured, oily and red. I noticed new wrinkles and have edema under my left eye which I never had. Is this permanent? When it will go away? Is this skin atrophy? Please share your experience. I really need that

Dr. Persky’s Reply: It does appear that the treatment to dissolve filler in your face with kenalog and 5FU have caused subcutaneous atrophy. It is most likely a permanent effect. After examining you, I would likely treat you with bioregenerative fillers like Sculptra and/or hyperdilute Radiesse to replace your lost volume. Be sure to choose your treating physician very carefully.
