Profound RF… RF and x current – safe for melasma, botox, filler?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: I am interested in adding either Radiofrequency or microcurrent treatments, but I have melasma, and I do get Botox, and I get filler in my cheeks. Considering melasma, botox, and filler, are these treatments a good option for me? I am 48. I get regular microneedling and light peels to treat melasma.
Dr. Persky’s Reply: Radiofrequency microneedling technology such as Profound Rf are vry safe to use in patients of all skin colors. I am not aware of any exacerbation of melasma with RF microneedling. It does not affect Botox, but may cause superficially placed filler to disappear quicker.
