Rhinoplasty disaster, how do I know what my surgeon did to my nose?
RealSelf actual patient comment:
Rhinoplasty 3 weeks ago: I know swelling takes months, but I wanted drastic changes. I asked for width to be narrowed significantly, giving mynose a new shape along with nostrils brought in and the tip brought up. I asked for the nose of different ethnicity -when I stretch skin bones haven’t been shaved off or touched at all -if she didn’t touch width of the nose due to fear of breathing collapsing, can I get a refund since she isn’t skilled enough to perform a revision? How do I know if she did surgery?
A.It is best to speak with your rhinoplasty surgeon for an explanation of what was done. Ask for the operative note (although many times, depending upon the individual surgeon, the note may not reflect the surgery.) Consult with a rhinoplasty expert, bring your pre-op photos and the operative report. You may ask that the new surgeon personally speak with your first surgeon. It is too early at this point to do anything, unfortunately you should wait 6 to 12 months before considering any revision rhinoplasty. Good luck and be well.
