Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: I had CO2 laser surgery which worked well on one side of my face but not the other. I want to try Sculptra to even this problem out. My surgeon says it won’t give me the results I’m looking for, and is suggesting a mini facelift which I cannot afford. Will Sculptra slow down the progression of my cheek wrinkles even if it does not dramatically improve the wrinkles on that side of my face? Will injecting platelet rich fibrin with Sculptra be useful? I’m a65- year- old woman. Thank you.

Dr. Persky’s Reply: An experienced injector of Sculptra should be able to help you. Some injectors have combined Sculptra injections with PRP which may be a very good idea in your case. Not only does Sculptra injection result in improved volume, but it also improves the quality of the skin, experienced Sculptra injectors call “Sculptra Glow.” Another treatment that may be very helpful for your condition is automated computer controlled precise injection with Medi’Inject. We are able to control the precise amount injected to the hundredth of a milliliter, as well as controlling the depth of the injection with adjustable micro needles (from 0.25 to 2 mm deep.) Medi-Inject is a terrific skin-boosting treatment using PRP, hyaluronic acid filler, vitamin C, skin lighteners, and botox in a 10 cc syringe “cocktail.” Make sure to choose your treating physician very carefully. Good luck and be well.
