Im so overwhelmed with good responses from y’all and Im getting super close to booking my surgery. Andthank ufor all honest feedbacks.1 more question tho, I got a lot of osteotomies suggestion but Im asian and google said to avoid osteotomies as much as possible. So, what are other ways to narrow my nasal bones?

A.I have a wonderful rhinoplasty surgeon associate, Ari Hyman, MD who is now performing all of the rhinoplasty surgery in ourpracticebecause of his great skill, artistic vision, and unsurpassed fellowship training with Dean Toriumi, MD in Chicago. I have asked Dr. Hyman to answer your question as he is an expert in Asian rhinoplasty as well. Here is his recommendation: “In Asian patients osteotomies are rarely needed. Nasal bones tend to be quite short and the width of the upper nose comes from a low bridge height. Augmentation of the bridge, which in my hands comes from the patients own cartilage, creates the narrowing of the upper 2/3rds of the nose. Osteotomies become unnecessary. Leaving the bones where they are and augmenting the dorsum creates the normal pyramidal shape to the bridge – if osteotomies are done – it can create an unnatural verticallity to the side walls of the nose which most Asian patients seek to avoid.” I highly recommend that you consult with Dr. Hyman regarding your nose. Good luck and be well.
