Actual Real Self Patient Comment: I’ve suffered from chronic migraines for twenty years. In the past, I was treated with Botox injections to treat my migraines. It helped BUT I stopped due to the pain of the procedure. I must be usual… it is NOT a mild stinging pain. Those 30 plus injections HURT. Especially those administered to the scalp, neck, and shoulder. My doctor wants me to treat me again with Botox ( nothing else works). What can I do to alleviate the pain… ice is not as effective with 30 different site injections.

Dr. Persky’s Reply: You may find an office that uses inhalational nitrous oxide. Applying ice firmly in an area away from the injection a millisecond before the injection really helps.
