What’s the difference between Profound RF and other micro-needling RF treatments?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: why is the profound so much more expensive than something like Morpheus or Secret? what is the difference? are the results better? Less pain? I went for a consultation and the doctor recommended this and I was seriously considering this procedure but am concerned about the high cost in light of the low rating on real self (only 62%) vs secret which is much less expensive and has higher satisfaction. Dr. Persky’s Reply: Profound RF is a device that can give excellent rejuvenation results on the face and neck. It is performed by a physician, takes more time than Morpheus or Secret, and is a “one time treatment” whereas the others involve multiple treatments. I usually sedate my Profound RF patients so that they are very comfortable and do not feel the treatment (they also receive nerve blocks and local anesthesia.) To maximize our patients results and satisfaction, I combine the treatment with Sculptra, PRP, and light laser skin resurfacing all at the same time and with the same recovery period of 5 to 7 days. I would recommend that you do your homework and make sure that you choose your treating physician most carefully. Good luck and be well.
