Which area has less blood vessels and is less likely to lead to some of the bad complications of fillers (e.g. blocking blood vessel, etc.) – filler in face or sculptra filler for hip dips?
Dr. Persky’s Reply: Fortunately the face has lots of blood vessels which helps it heal well. It is very important to choose your injecting physician most carefully to avoid complications with filler injections. The Hips have a lower risk of injection into a blood vessel, once again as long as your injecting physician is properly trained in anatomy and Sculptra techniques. Your injecting physician must know facial anatomy as well as the danger zones to avoid. The central portions of the face are the most dangerous to inject, though experts can inject this area safely. Sculptra is the most forgiving injectable filler in terms of vascular complications because it is injected as a fluid, not a gel. Good luck and be well.
