The hump needs to be shaved a bit. I don’t want a curve. The overprotection of my tip is the biggest issue I have and I’m afraid of the tip appearing more bulbous and projected by bringing in the bridge. Can the desired effect be accomplished with subtle alterations made via a closed rhinoplasty?
A.Yes, a properly performed closed rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish your nasal aesthetic goals. The closed approach rhinoplasty is becoming somewhat of a lost art as the last generation of rhinoplasty surgeons have learning rhinoplasty from their professors under the “open” or “external” approach. The closed approach avoids any external incisions or scars, but is much more difficult to teach or observe the intricacies, thus most teaching centers use the open approach.
