Will facial fat transfer cause looser skin long term?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: I am in my early 30s but have a significant amount of volume loss around my eyes. I am considering a fat transfer to the area, but will the fat shift as I age? Especially under the brow? Does the fat put increased weight on the skin?
A: Hi That One Girl,
Fat would not be my choice for facial volume in a young patient. Fat transfer is unpredictable, either over or under done. If you should gain weight, fat can increase abnormally disproportionately in the face. I prefer to use Sculptra, Voluma, and Restylane to replace volume around the eyes.
