Will Profound RF dissolve fat cells in addition to tightening skin?
Actual RealSelf Patient Comment: 1 year old male I had chin lipo a year and a half ago. I still feel that I have a thin layer of fat remaining (in addition to some thicker skin) underneath my chin. Does profound rf also destroy fat cells to better contour the neck, or is it solely used for skin tightening?
Dr. Persky’s Reply: Great question. Profound RF has two different sets of needles, one for tightening the skin at 1-2 mm deep which stimulates elastin formation tightening and lifting the skin, the other for melting unwanted fat at 6 mm deep.
